Happy 4th of July. Sadly, I’ve become increasingly unenthused to be an American over the past few years, so there won’t be any patriotic or nationalist talk from me. Instead, I’m sharing my summer 2017 capsule wardrobe so you can get some inspiration for last minute 4th of July shopping!
I’ve been intrigued by capsule wardrobes for the past two years, but haven’t been forced to create one until getting married since I now have to share closet space. The apartment life struggle! Although I sort of “cheat” my wardrobe by often borrowing statement pieces from Rent the Runway, I wanted to challenge myself to create seasonal capsule wardrobes filled with classic staples that will always provide me with something to wear. This 25-piece closet that I came up with for the summer has a lot of black, white, blue, striped, and tan pieces that pair well together in infinite ways!
A classic white tee, off the shoulder top, striped blouse, white button down, and denim jacket make up the top staples of this wardrobe.
Denim cut-offs and white jeans are summer staples, but a black pencil skirt, light-wash step hem jeans, and striped culottes can also be great options for work or cooler summer nights.
You guys know I’m a sucker for rompers and jumpsuits. Summer calls for this denim romper, a classic white dress, a cut out jumpsuit, off the shoulder striped dress, and a black maxi dress.
Slides, sandals, and mules let your pedicures toes shine, but an airy pair of flats and clean white sneakers make every outfit barbecue or day party ready!
Shades and straw are must-haves for the summer, but a few classic black bags tie everything in together!
